Regular Maintenance

Groom your surface regularly. This could be daily for high-use arenas, or every few rides for lower traffic facilities.

Groom consistently

Use a footing-specific groomer designed to maintain synthetic surfaces
Keep tines shallow enough to avoid disturbing the base
Focus on corners and track lines where compaction builds up most

Manage moisture

Water a sand and fiber surface as needed to maintain a slightly damp texture, not soaked
SEF Stride and SEF Track do not need supplemental water
SEF emulsion can cut watering needs by 50%-70%, saving time and resources

Check and reset track lines

Watch compression along high traffic zones like rails, at gates, and before and after jumps
Use a shovel or rake to loosen compacted areas if necessary
Redistribute footing to maintain level depth across the arena
