Arena Maintenance

A well-maintained footing isn't just about appearance, it's about performance, safety, and longevity. Regular care helps your surface stay uniform, responsive underfoot, and extend its lifespan.

We provide the highest-quality groomers designed to maintain the health and performance of your arena. Our groomers combine adjustable front and rear rollers to achieve the perfect level of compaction and surface texture, with adjustable teeth in between to blend and redistribute the surface for proper leveling. Our groomers are competitively priced and come in many widths to fit your needs. Contact us today to learn more.

Regular Maintenance

Groom your surface regularly. This could be daily for high-use arenas, or every few rides for lower traffic facilities.

1

Groom consistently

  • Use a footing-specific groomer designed to maintain synthetic surfaces

  • Keep tines shallow enough to avoid disturbing the base

  • Focus on corners and track lines where compaction builds up most

2

Manage moisture

  • Water a sand and fiber surface as needed to maintain a slightly damp texture, not soaked

  • SEF Stride and SEF Track do not need supplemental water

  • SEF emulsion can cut watering needs by 50%-70%, saving time and resources

3

Check and reset track lines

  • Watch compression along high traffic zones like rails, at gates, and before and after jumps

  • Use a shovel or rake to loosen compacted areas if necessary

  • Redistribute footing to maintain level depth across the arena

Monthly Maintenance

Groom your surface regularly. This could be daily for high-use arenas, or every few rides for lower traffic facilities.

1

Depth check

  • Maintain a consistent 4" depth across the arena

  • Watch for fiber or sand migration

2

Edges and borders

  • Push material back toward the center and smooth transitions

  • Ensure fencing and kickboards are clear and even

3

Evaluate water systems

  • If you use an irrigation or overhead system, inspect nozzles, hoses, and spray coverage

  • Calibrate to ensure even water distribution and avoid dry spots
